C H A R A C T E R I N F O
Character Name: Sena Kashiwazaki
Series: Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai, also known as Haganai. I'll be taking her from the anime, using bits of the light novel to fill in some background in places that don't conflict with the anime.
Age/Gender: 17, female
Canon Point: She's just learned about the world of galge. It would be too cruel to make her die without knowing about video games.
History: My Anime List Haganai wiki
Personality:

On the surface, Sena isn't a very nice person. Arrogant, brash, spoiled, she's quick to speak her mind and usually doesn't have anything good to say. The boys that follow her around and do her bidding usually don't get a second thought, most classmates aren't worth remembering, and most people are considered beneath her. This is seen most clearly with Aoi, who considers Sena a rival but doesn't even register on Sena's radar or with her lackeys, whom she “rewards” by stepping on with her goddess legs.

She's also a bit of a pervert herself, despite looking down on boys for the same quality. Her games go from galge to the occasional eroge, and though she tries to justify it as art, her intentions are a little dubious. When the girl is cute enough, as many anime girls are, this spills over into the real world. Kobato, who looks like a girl from one of her games, is rightfully afraid of her and Sena goes so far as tricking, all but dragging, her to the bath. Even if it wasn't quiet as bad as it sounds, it's still bad enough.

This is especially true in her games. She's very obsessed with them and it seems to eat up a lot of free time. She's playing in the club room, at home, presumably anytime she's not in school or meeting with the others. In a way, it helps her escape reality, helps her become someone who is surrounded by “friends”. Unfortunately, it also helps further warp her idea of friendship in that nearly every game has the main character surrounded by a harem.

Despite all of these qualities, she's a bit of crybaby. Normally, only being embarrassed, i.e. seen naked, or Yozora have the power to do that. Since most people's thoughts aren't worth considering, anger is her first line of defense. It's only when someone is closer that they gain the ability to get past that line. If it goes that far, she'll normally leave the room in tears.

Because all of this, Sena is lonely. Most of the guys want her and many of the girls are so jealous, they won't even give her a chance. Sena is seen making an effort to join groups, only to be told to “go join the boys”. Since someone who's only after her for her looks can never be her friend, this leaves her as the odd one out and is the singular reason she joins the club.

But that isn't the only thing she's seen trying on. Naturally gifted, she seems to pick up most things without very much effort – swimming, school, athletics – but she is willing to try when it comes to things you can't do by ability alone. When they first begin to play on the PSP, she spends the entire weekend leveling up her character and she does join the group in hopes of learning to make friends.

She also has kind spots. If you're a cute girl and are half decent to her, she'll stand by you, she'll be loyal. If you're a guy and don't try to constantly perv on her, you can get past her defenses but it takes much longer and she'll never express it quiet as well. She'll spend her time on forums in support of her favorite characters, she'll make the effort to actually go shopping for things Kobato likes and buy games that she can relate to, she'll even hold back things on Yozora if she thinks it will cut too deep after they really become friends. For example, originally, Sena would happily let Yozora think having Kodaka over is less innocent than it really is. Later on, in both the anime and novels, she agrees to keep it a secret when she finds out she and Kodaka are engaged.

As for her speech pattern, it's usually pretty average, neither overly polite nor brash. However, when unsure or embarrassed, she'll take to stuttering and mumbling. If it gets extreme enough, she'll be almost impossible to hear. In contrast, she's quick to take to yelling (and blushing). She's also the kind to make noises in addition to actual words (eh, heh, Nnn).

There are some parts of the anime which conflict with earlier parts in ways that don't seem to be growth or regression. Further on in the anime, Sena admits to being unable to pick out her own clothes or do her own hair or makeup, to the point of being rather hopeless about it. However, in the scene in which Sena is shown shopping for a bathing suit, she's obviously the one looking, with Stella only following behind and, at one point in canon, they spend the night at her vacation house with no comment from anyone that her hair/makeup was odd the next morning. Also, while never see Sena do her make up, we do get a scene of her touching it up.

Special Abilities: The only thing I find worth mentioning is that she's an extremely fast learner in most things. She picks up, and nearly beats Kodaka at, swimming on her first day, she's the top of her class with no outside studying other than her homework, she wins athletic event, etc.

How did your character die? A thief breaks into her house one night and just so happens to find Sena's room. Despite only wanting to take her things, Sena's shown not to know when not to condescend, and is stabbed.

Other: I found a picture just for you.

First Person:

Of course he was sad that I didn't step on him more but he should be grateful I rewarded him so generously! I don't have time to sit around all day, important people have important things to do. I want to get to the club room before Yozora shows up. N...not that I care what she thinks or when she comes! It's just easier to ignore that witch when she comes in. Besides, I want to get started on my game.

Maybe Kodaka's already there? It's really not that important if he is, I just thought he might want to see the new game the boy got for me. It might be fun playing with him, even if he's not very good at it.

Eh? No, it would be fun anyway! It's not like he can share these relationships that I'll build with my new friends on here, anyway. I'm just willing to share some of the scenes with him.

For some variety, I'm also going to include a thread from a game I'm in. Sena gets upset about not being believed.

Third Person:
It wasn't as if she cared where they went, even if it was an amusement park. A goddess such as herself had more important things to do than wait in some stupid line for a ride that wouldn't scare her, or be forced to smell foods that probably weren't worth her time. So...so, it was really a good thing Yozora uninvited her. She wouldn't have gone. Why would she leave all these cute girls to go somewhere full of commoners?

They knew how to treat friends. They looked forward to meeting up with her...Eh, with her character. They always looked forward to meeting with her character.

With eyes averted, seemingly distracted in the loading screen of her game, she could hear them behind her, planning the trip. The screen faded to black and she could see their faint reflections on the television screen. They seemed excited...were they excited to be going without her? Didn't Kodaka think it would be fun to go on rides with her? Didn't Kobato want to help her pick out cute stuffed animals for the both of them?

Of course they wanted her to go! Their trip would be lonely without her! Throwing down the controller, and getting everyone's attention, she stood and faced Yozora.

“Even if I already had plans, I can make time for this little trip.” Yozora was about to say something, no doubt rude and unwelcoming, but Sena ignored her for now, using one hand to flip back her hair. Thanks to her, their trip might turn out to be a little fun.

Did you read the rules and F.A.Q.? Yep, I did!
